Frequent Flyer Partners

The frequent flyer programs are all about earning miles which can be redeemed for airline travel, upgrades and many other benefits and special offers. It was not all that many years ago that mileage could only be earned from the actual air miles that were flown by the consumer. Nowadays you don't have to put one foot inside an airplane to be able to earn points, and these points or miles all come from the frequent flyer partners.

When choosing a program, or frequent flyer credit card, it is the partners that will more than likely be casting the final vote in your choice. Unless you spend a great deal of time in the air, that is. For a great majority of people, most of their mileage is going to be earned through the rewards from the partners. Not that this is difficult these days. The only hard part is making sure that your awards card matches the retailers and services in your area. When this is done, all you need to do is make all your purchases on this specific card, and then you are able to sit back and watch your mileage points grow.

More and more people are finding the deals that are being offered through the frequent flyer partners just too good to resist. And why wouldn't they. Initially the frequent flyer partners just included rental cars and hotels. The first on board were the hotels, very quick to realise that this would be a great way to increase their levels of occupancy. The rental cars followed suit and for some time it was just these two that partnered the major airlines. It all made such perfect sense, in fact it was the whole traveling package. Nowadays most car rental firms and hotels will have a partner relationship with a frequent flyer program. They do so because it leads to increased sales.

The recent addition of airline alliances has also helped make international travel easier to manage, with the allocation of reciprocal mileage points amongst all the other advantages. This partnering of airlines has made the whole booking procedure more streamlined with the linking of domestic to international flights. Because they are frequent flyer partners the consumer is able to access things like member's waiting lounges, priority seating, upgrades etc. whilst flying in one of the partner airlines covered in the alliance.

The list of frequent flyer partners has grown to gargantuan proportions today. In fact if you wished to have every dollar you spend earn a frequent flyer mile then it would most probably be possible. The list covers such things as: 1. Credit/Debit card partners 2. Cruise partners 3. Online retail partners 4. Supermarket partners 5. Financial and Real Estate Partners 6. And lots more

As you can see, it is very easy to keep your dollar earning for you with such a substantial list of frequent flyer partners. The latest trend is for online shopping malls specifically structured to pay you mileage points for every dollar you spend. Now that rewards do not have to be redeemed for flights, the lure of cash back or holidays amongst thousands of other options, is keeping the 'fantastic plastic' earning those much sought after miles.
